Wedding Veils and Hair Flowers

When walking down the aisle, a unique and final touch to your overall look is your bridal veil or hair accessory. A piece that I find to be very elegant and romantic is veils with lace detailing and trim. Whether your veil length is long or short, lace detailing works for any style. Lace also updates the look of traditional veils. Flowers always look classic and chic in hairstyles and allow the bride to add color. They can be tucked into the back of an up-do hairstyle or pinned at the crown of the head. I like how wedding veils and flowers allow the bride to show off her personal side and finish off the style of her wedding ensemble.

Engagement Photos!

Be creative, show your personality, and have fun! Engagement photos are such a wonderful way to express your style as well as have great pictures that can be used as save the date cards, in your wedding program, reception decoration, and just for you to have.

I love how engagement photos can speak so much of the couple. Think about going to your favorite place, incorporating themes, or using props such as balloons or umbrellas to make your pictures unique and artistic. Another great idea is to take pictures while doing a favorite activity together so you can capture really natural and expressive photos. Don’t be afraid to be silly and show off your true colors.

There are really no limitations to what engagement photos have to be like. It is all up to the couple and the style they desire. There are so many great ideas out there to help guide you in the perfect direction. So, find out what will make your engagement photos most memorable and meaningful to you.

Here are some tips and fun ideas to take a look at:

Bird Cages

One cute and innovative way I have seen to keep the gift table organized at a wedding, is to place a bird cage in the middle for the cards. Vintage cages are becoming very popular and can be found very inexpensive at www.save-on-crafts.com.

Setting The Mood For Your Wedding

What better way to create a romantic, magical touch to your wedding than by adding beautiful lighting to your ceremony and reception. Lighting not only creates the mood and feel of your wedding but also highlights details such as the flowers, the cake, aisles, and tables. Candles, patio lights, and interior lights create an overall stunning affect. If you’re having an outdoor wedding, I love the look of string lights wrapped around trees and bushes to make an enchanting reception site. For inside receptions, you can adjust the lights to a relaxed dim setting or use colors to change up the energy of the room. You can never go wrong with classic candles, and for a twist try placing candles inside vases or lanterns. Contact Couture Events for the perfect lighting specialist or ask your venue for their recommendations. One of our favorite light specialist is Fuller lighting and AV Designs at www.fullerlighting.com

Butterflies and More!

picture from veranda.com
This past weekend was a busy wedding weekend for Couture Events. There were so many beautiful and fun ideas in the winery setting. One thing I loved about this wedding was that there were little themes within the overall winery theme. This bride loved butterflies. She put small little touches of butterflies within the flowers, cake, and at the sweetheart table. This gave her the opportunity to have something she loved, and that was meaningful to her, present throughout her Wedding day.

I found this idea to be creative and made the wedding more memorable and personal for the bride and groom. Of course there are many different ways to do this, such as through colors, or maybe a favorite song lyric or quote, or even an heirloom. Whatever it may be, it is definitely a way to make your special day even more personal, and to show off some of your favorite things.

Love Birds

Today I was inundated with little birdie ideas... I have one bride who is looking for the perfect Dove Topper and another who is going to theme her entire wedding around LOVE BIRDS. I just adore this idea and after I started researching it I realized that there are many brides who love this idea! I thought I would make a board of Love Birds to inspire you! The best thing about love birds is that they are a great example of how marriage doesn't tie you down, it only makes you more free... free to fly- together!

Peacock Feathers!

One theme for weddings I have fallen in love with is Peacock feathers! These are great to incorporate into invitations, center pieces and even veils. They work well with blue or green bridesmaids dresses and table linens. Peacock feathers are fairly inexpensive and can be found at http://www.orientaltrading.com/

Fall Themed Weddings

Fall is a beautiful time of year, which makes a beautiful time for weddings. The rich, earthy colors allow for dazzling decoration and theme inspiration. The most popular fall colors are oranges, reds, and yellows but do not forget about deep plums, purples, and olives. Elements of fall such as leaves, branches, vines, and fruits can make great table centerpieces or room accents, while crystals and romantic candles add a warm, fall feel. Roses, sunflowers, and calla lilies are lovely fall flowers that make stunning bouquets. I love that the overall theme and effect for fall weddings can be either rustic (think vineyards, fields, or orchards) or elegant and enchanting.

Feather Love Photography

This past week I had the pleasure to meet up with Noa, owner of Feather Love. I found her website and absolutely LOVE her style, the photos are so vintage, so beautiful, so magical. I wanted to get a better idea of her company and her style of photography but when we met up I just ended up being inspired! We met on my lunch break and in that short hour she showed me how important it was to do weddings that you love and that you really believe in. My favorite quote from her bio that she really reiterated in our meeting is,

" you don’t have any intention of asking me to take a bridal portrait and make it all black and white, except for the red roses of the bouquet. because you know, in your heart, that i just won’t do it. and you and i will probably have a laugh about that sort of thing at some point… you have great taste. you think i probably do too."

She really encouraged me to take a leap and show the weddings that I love and the types of weddings I want to do. My style is not exactly like hers but the idea is the same- DONT BE THE TYPICAL WEDDING VENDOR. So I am going to be stepping out a little and showing you the style that I love and I hope you love it too and if you don't, I am probably not the best Wedding Coordinator for you...
So let me begin by showing you a wedding she shot in Vancouver, Washington. I think its absolutely stunning... completely homemade, and all about the details.
See more of this wedding and follow her on some of her amazing travels on her blog:

Choosing the perfect wedding cake for you can be a challenging task. Luckily, there are so many types of cakes that once you know what you want, getting that will be a breeze.
My personal favorite is Fondant wedding cakes which have become very popular lately. Their smooth texture looks like it could be made of play dough and they are really fun and hip.

Another popular type of cake is square cakes. They have an elegance to them that can make your day fun and classy.

Cupcake wedding cakes are also one of my favorites. It’s when your entire cake is made of cupcakes! What a fun idea and your guests will love being able to come up and just grab one of the cupcakes!

Have you ever considered having your special event at a park? Well neither did I until this past weekend, where we planned a wedding for a rock star couple that chose to hold their ceremony at a La Jolla Beach followed by their reception at the ultra-trendy Hard Rock Hotel in Downtown, San Diego. Perhaps the best part was that their dreams of a beach wedding came true at a price everyone can afford!

With all the beautiful beaches San Diego has to offer, you are sure to find the perfect spot as you can choose from a handful of beaches and parks including Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Balboa Park, and more!
